The approach

Not every week needs to be a breakthrough

The intensives and the ketamine work get the attention, but a great deal of real change happens in ordinary, consistent, well-conducted weekly therapy. That is available here too, and it is not a lesser option.

Rather than trying to eliminate uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, this work uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness-based practice to help you make room for difficult experience while staying committed to what actually matters to you. The goal is not to feel nothing. It is to stop your life being organised around avoiding feeling.

What Heather works with

In person or virtual

In-office sessions serve Greenacres, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, Wellington, West Palm Beach and Royal Palm Beach. Virtual sessions are available anywhere in Florida, and insurance applies to them exactly as it does in person. Plenty of people mix the two depending on what the week looks like.

$200 per 60-minute session. In network with Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna and Evernorth, Optum, Oscar Health, UMR and UnitedHealthcare. Out-of-network superbills and a sliding scale are available.

Practical questions

What kind of therapy is this?
Primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness-based work, informed by trauma-focused and experiential methods. In practice that means less time fighting your thoughts and more time learning to carry them while still moving toward what matters to you.
What do you work with?
Complex trauma and PTSD, depression, severe anxiety, addiction and substance use, grief, anger, personality dynamics, self-esteem, and life transitions.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, anywhere in Florida. Heather is licensed statewide, and insurance applies to virtual sessions the same as in-office ones.
How often would we meet?
Usually weekly to begin with, moving to fortnightly as things settle. It is a clinical decision made with you, not a package you are locked into.
What does it cost?
$200 for a 60-minute session. Heather is in network with Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna and Evernorth, Optum, Oscar Health, UMR and UnitedHealthcare, and can provide out-of-network superbills. A sliding scale is available on application.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
The free 15-minute consultation exists for exactly that. Fit matters more than credentials in therapy outcomes, and if it is not there, being told honestly is more useful than being booked in.
